Barbara Pires e Castro
Barbara Castro is an artist-researcher, working in the fields of experience design, creative coding, interactive installations and data visualization.
In 2015, Barbara has founded the studio Ambos&& with Luiz Ludwig.
Ambos&& is a creative studio that develops exhibition and strategic projects for institutions and companys focused on cultural and educational market. Ambos&& has exhibited works in Museu do Amanhã, Oi Futuro, SESC and Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil.
She is currently a PhD Candidate at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
She worked for 3 years on a data visualization project for the Energy Innovation Center of the Inter American Development Bank and as a freelance graphic/motion designer for other needs in the same institution.
In march 2013, she obtained her Visual Arts Master degree in Interdisciplinary Poetics at the School of Fine Arts of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (EBA-UFRJ), with co-supervision of Luiz Velho at the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA), where she was a Research Trainee.
Before that, she has worked as a motion designer for TV Globo, the Brazilian main broadcast channel. She has completed her Design degree (Visual Communication), at the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio) in 2009.
