Here you can find the “snapshots of modern mathematics from Oberwolfach”. Snapshots are short texts on aspects of modern mathematics written by researchers visiting the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach. They are edited for accessibility and understandability by a team of editors. We recommend advanced High School mathematics as prerequisite for reading a snapshot.
The snapshot project is designed to promote the understanding and appreciation of modern mathematics and mathematical research in the general public world-wide. As part of the project “Oberwolfach meets IMAGINARY” (2013-2016), it was funded by the Klaus Tschira Foundation and the Oberwolfach Foundation.
