The first show of IMAGINARY at Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) was held at XJTLU in 2012. By integrating the elements of mathematics and arts and pedagogical research, the department of mathematical science will hold the ‘IMAGINARY EXHIBITION AND MATHS PEDAGOGICAL CONFERENCE SERIAL ACTIVITIES’ to celebrate the 10th anniversary of XJTLU in May 2016.

XJTLU is a unique collaborative institution, the first university in China to offer both UK (University of Liverpool) and Chinese (Ministry of Education) accredited undergraduate degrees. Established in 2006, the first cohort of students graduated in August 2010. The University now has over 10,000 students, with 8,000 studying on campus in Suzhou and a further 2,000 studying at the University of Liverpool on a “2+2” articulation route. XJTLU aims to become truly research-led, and has recently committed significant investment into research development and the expansion of PhD student numbers on campus. The department of mathematical science has characterized itself in the pedagogical research of university mathematics. To further integrate the ideas from the leading scholars of mathematical pedagogical Masters and Experts, the proposed pedagogical research conference has invited many experts and pioneers in the university mathematics teaching.
