Collection, process and use of personal data for the purpose of project executionWe collect, process, store and use personal data exclusively to the extent they are required for establishing, performing and executing a functional service for our users. The only required personal data is a valid e-mail address and a password. Your full name is not required, pseudonyms are explicitly allowed. All other data you send to IMAGINARY, especially your personal profile is voluntary.
The collected personal data will be used exclusively for the purposes mentioned above and only to the extent required to achieve these purposes. The data will not be used for advertising, customer advice or market research.
The IMAGINARY’s web servers temporarily store the access data of each visit in a log file. The types of data that are recorded and stored until automated deletion are: IP address of Your computer, date and time of the access, identifiers of the browser and operating system that were used, the website from which the data was accessed (referrer) and your Internet Service Provider. These data are processed to establish a connection to You and enable use of the IMAGINARY Internet pages, and further for the purposes of system security, technical administration of the network infrastructure and optimization of the website. Only IMAGINARY evaluates the IP addresses only in case of an attack. The usage data stored by the servers will not be linked to personally identifiable information and statistical evaluation will be performed exclusively in an anonymous way.
Sharing of personal data and personal profileIMAGINARY is a sharing platform, so most of the information You provide us is information that You choose to be made public. For instance, your profile information (“about me”), links to your website, your picture, your organization, your country, blog entries, are immediately delivered to all internet users worldwide. In your account settings you can choose whether your e-mail-address should be visible to IMAGINARY users. In your account settings you can choose whether you can be contacted by email through a contact formular without your email being visible to IMAGINARY users. Your e-mail address will not be visible on the website unless you publish it in the “about me”-field. When you share information or content via the IMAGINARY website, you should think carefully about what you are making public. You can change at any time your personal profile in your account settings. IMAGINARY will not share any personal data with any third party without by your explicit permission. IMAGINARY may, however, disclose personally identifiable information to respond to appropriate requests of legitimate government agencies or where required by applicable laws, court orders, or government regulations.
Deletion of dataYou can delete your IMAGINARY account at any time. Data which has been published under an Open-Content-License may still be available on the website. You should therefore keep copyrighted content free of personal data. This applies especially (but not exclusively) to blog entries and photographs.
CookiesIMAGINARY uses cookies to make IMAGINARY’s services more user-friendly and more secure. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the temporary store of the web browser or on the hard disk of the user visiting the website for the purpose of technical session control. Users can decline cookies by adjusting specific browser settings accordingly. Normally, you can also choose default settings for your web browser that will make sure that your consent will be obtained prior to storing cookies when you visit our website. Moreover, You may always delete cookies that have been set. Web analysisThe Internet pages of IMAGINARY uses Piwik, an open source software for preparing statistical analytics of visitor accesses to the internet pages of IMAGINARY. Piwik does not create any personal user profiles but only collects anonymous measuring data. The collected data is not linked to personally identifiable information. Neither is a cross-website analysis performed. Piwik works with cookies as tracking devices that enable an analysis of website usage. The IP addresses are anonymized immediately after processing and prior to storage. You can deactivate data recording by Piwik in your account settings. If your browser supports “do-not-track” technology and you have turned it on, your visit will be automatically ignored. The data Piwik collects is never sent to other servers or to third parties and is stored on servers hosted in Germany.
SecurityIMAGINARY has taken required technical and organizational safety measures to protect your personal data administered by us against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. We continuously improve our security measures in line with technological developments. All data is stored on servers hosted in Germany.
NewsletterIMAGINARY regularly (approximately every 3-4 months) sends out newsletters to all IMAGINARY users who have subscribed. In these newsletters IMAGINARY may inform You about new content on the IMAGINARY website and about upcoming events or general information concerning the IMAGINARY project.
You may choose to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by changing your account settings on IMAGINARY.
Right to information and contact dataYou shall have the right to be informed about your personal data we have stored on the IMAGINARY platform, and you are further entitled to correct incorrect data or to block or delete data.
