Symmetry is an illustrated animation that showcases two of the four symmetries of the plane, reflection symmetry and rotation symmetry.

In the animation, the letters of the word SYMMETRY are animated according to their symmetry. For example, the letter S rotates 180 degrees, the Y reflects vertically, the E reflects horizontally, etc. The storyline of the animation follows a figure who encounters identical figures in positions that would yield each of the different symmetries, starting with reflection and then rotation. The musical pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach (Invention 6 in E major, BWV 777 and Prelude No.13 in F♯ major, BWV 858 from Das Wohltemperierte Klavier I) were chosen as they have pronounced symmetry elements.
