The MiMa, museum for minerals and mathematics in Oberwolfach, invites you to take a look at the wonderful world of minerals and mathematics in a way you have perhaps never done before. The MiMa museum does not only host the one-of-a-kind minerals of the Black Forest region or provides insights into mathematical theories, it especially presents the connection between minerals and mathematics: interactive installations let you understand symmetry and crystallography in a playful way.

Maths can be beautiful! On June 6th at 11 am, two new interactive stations will be presented at the EXPERIMINTA ScienceCenter in Frankfurt, Germany. At the opening Prof. Oldenburg, Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt, and Dr. Matt, Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut, Oberwolfach will be present. The two stations are accompanied by a gallery of beautiful visualizations and will be permanently displayed at the science center.
A permanent IMAGINARY installation in the Mathematical Cabinet of the “Deutsches Museum” in Munich. At three interactive stations (Surfer, Cinderella and jReality) you can experience the beauty of mathematics and discover your own mathematical intuition by becoming creative yourself! The idea behind this installation is to bring the inconceivable or imaginary in mathematics to appear as an image.
Important notice: Unfortunately the Cinderella applets no longer work “out of the box”. There are two alternative ways, though:
1 - For a modern and up to date version of the Cinderella applets check our Math to Touch software based on CindyJS, the Javascript version of Cinderella.
2 - Just install Cinderella - the free dynamic geometry software and use it to open the .cdy source files. You find all Cinderella applet (cdy files) in the /en directory of the github repository.
