Opening of the "Museo Virtual de MAT3MÁTICAS"
event
Website
The Museo Virtual de MAT3MÁTICAS opens to the public on August 7. It offers a unique and engaging way to explore mathematical concepts.
This virtual museum allows visitors to interact with various mathematical problems and applications across five distinct rooms: the Kitchen, the Cabin, Time, Air-Sea, and the Anthill. In total, 150 virtual objects challenge and entertain, making math accessible and fun for all ages.
Visitors can explore the rooms in any order, guided by three characters: Mayor, Menor, and Gato, a curious cat. The museum also includes materials from IMAGINARY’s “Math to Touch” application and images from the Surfer collection.
The driving force behind this project are Aubin Arroyo from Instituto de Matemáticas Unidad Cuernavaca/Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Renato Iturriaga from Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas, A. C. (CIMAT).
The virtual museum is in Spanish, and you can visit it here.
