IMAGINARY France - public launch
This Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 13:30, the library Alcazar in Marseille will hold the public launch of IMAGINARY France. This event is part of the Forum of Living Mathematics and is accompanied by a public exhibition, “Living and Visual Mathematics”, under the canopy of the Old Port of Marseille.
The content of the Marseille exhibition, proposed by the International Center for Mathematical Meetings (CIRM) and the Jean Morlet Chair, has a wide selection of images by Herwig Hauser, a mathematician who currently holds the Chair in Marseille and longtime collaborator of IMAGINARY. The exhibition also features a selection of French and French-speaking contributions.
The launch event on Saturday will present the French version of the platform, imaginary.org/fr and the iconic SURFER software in French. The next goals of IMAGINARY France, with the support of Cap’Maths and members of the AudiMath network, include the production of a traveling exhibition in France in 2016 and increasing the contributions of the French and French-speaking math community to the platform.
